CHARLOTTE – There’s been a lot to cheer about so far this season on Charlotte Olympic High School’s football field.

Tuesday, the good times continued to roll when the Carolina Panthers presented the school’s athletic program with $50,000 worth of weight training equipment as a part of the team’s “High School Weight Room Makeover” program.

Just a few feet from the football field, the Trojans football team, volleyball team, marching band and cheerleaders gathered as a moving truck pulled up. After the crowd chanted “Open that truck,” confetti flew and the back of the truck opened to reveal three Panthers players and two Olympic players along with a piece of the equipment donated to the school.

“It’s a great idea that has brought a lot of excitement,” said Olympic football coach Barry Shuford, whose Trojans are off to a 6-1 start this season. “Hopefully now we can get up to the standard of the other 4-A teams we compete with in the city. It’s also going to mean a lot to our girls’ programs and cheerleaders, really everybody.

“We have so many economic needs here, and I know the other three schools that won are in need also.”

Olympic was the first of four winning schools to receive their delivery of equipment. About 70 high schools in North and South Carolina applied for the chance to receive equipment from the Panthers’ weight room, which was recently remodeled.

The other winning schools – Riverside (Durham, N.C.), Scott’s Branch (Summerton, S.C.) and South Stanly (Norwood, N.C.) – will have their equipment delivered later this month.

“The Carolina Panthers are thrilled to offer this tremendous opportunity to schools, especially when the need for resources is at a premium,” said Peter Vacho, the Panthers’ youth and military programs manager. “It is exciting to know that this equipment will make a significant impact in serving student-athletes in our region.”

Binding vs. Non-binding estimate

A binding estimate is an agreement made in advance between the shipper and the carrier, outlining the charges for the moving services. A binding estimate guarantees the total cost of the move based upon the quantities and services shown on the binding estimate.
A non-binding estimate can be based on either weight or volume (cubic feet) and is a carrier’s reasonable estimate on what the cost will be based upon the estimated weight or volume and any extra services requested. A non-binding estimate is not binding on the carrier and a shipper may end up paying more than the amount in the non-binding estimate. The final charges will be based on the actual weight or volume of the shipment.

Panthers 17th season

We are entering our 17th year as the Official Moving Partners of the Carolina Panthers. We are very excited for the upcoming season. Bringing in a new coaching staff ment staying busy with interstate moves and during the lockout we moved out all of the old weight room equipment so that the Panthers could upgrade their facility.

We couldn’t be more proud of our affiliation with the football team.

Commercial Moving

It takes a good coordinator to organize a commercial move. A person in your office should be chosen to lead the packing and labeling for your upcoming office move. They would work with our team long before the move date to work out elevator reservation times, insurance issues, packing and labeling as well as the disassembly and assembly of cubicles and furniture.

One tip is to be sure that if you are leasing your copiers, make sure the copier company knows you are moving them as it may void your warranty if they do not move it themselves.

Moving the Carolina Panthers

We have been associated with the Carolina Panthers since there inception in 1995. Not only does it involve moving their equipment to Wofford College for training camp but we also move many players, coaches and staff locally.
We are well experienced in moving high end homes of up to 14,000 square feet as well as the 1 bedroom apartment.

Labor Only to Load PODS and Rentals

For the ambitious person who wants to drive their own rental truck, we can supply the manpower to load and unload the truck. This applies to P.O.D.S. as well. In most cases there are no hourly minimums.

Furniture can damage easily while in transit mainly because the truck was not loaded correctly. Let our our experienced movers pack your rental truck or POD so that you are not spending the money you are saving by doing it yourself on furniture repair bills.

I recommend renting furniture pads to cover your most precious items.

Summer season means book early

Without a doubt the busy season for every mover is the summer season. Rates will increase and availability will decrease. If you plan to move at the end of the month like most people do, it is important that you book your reservation about 4 weeks in advance. Especially if you want the last Saturday of the month!

There are some companies that overbook and will make that call to you the night before your move to tell you that they are not available and will need to cancel your reservation. Some companies may do that if a bigger more profitable move comes in at the last minute.

We have been in business for over 15 years and have never done that to a customer. It is our policy that we don’t charge for a last minute cancellation or postponement on the customer’s end. We understand that closings fall through and that it is out of the control of the homeowner.

Guaranteed Moving Dates

Imagine moving day comes and the company you hired does not show up. There can be many “acceptable ” excuses but that does not bring comfort to you especially when you have to turn the keys to the house over at the end of the day to the new homeowner.

Your larger van lines on long distance moves will give you a window of time (usually about 3 – 5 days) of when they will show up to load and unload your furniture. This can wreak havoc on your plans to a stress free move.
